Billy Ray Colston, 70, of Norman, OK, passed away on April 25, 2021, at his home.
Billy was born on June 30, 1950, to Verlin and Velma Colston in Sayre, OK. Billy graduated from Carl Albert High School, Class of 1969. After graduating, Billy enlisted in the Air Force.
After the Air Force, Billy worked as a carpenter for several years and then went to work for General Motors, where he worked for over 20 years before he retired.
In 1971, he met Retha, and they were wed in 1972. They went on to have three children; Douglas, Kellie, and Charity.
When not working, Billy loved welding and constructing anything, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his dogs, but most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Some of Billy’s favorite bonding activities were shooting guns, clay pigeons, and silhouettes, which he made himself.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Verlin and Velma Colston; sister, Joyce Colston; and son, Douglas Colston.
He is survived by his wife, Retha Colston; daughters, Kellie Reynolds and husband, Timothy, Charity Bussell; grandchildren, Corey, Melody, Matthew, Jacob, Douglas, Autumn, and Madison; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Harlee, and Emma; brother, Robert Colston and wife, Dani; as well as many other family and friends.
