On September 4th 2020, David Richard Freed passed away peacefully at the V.A. Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 66.

David was born on January 22nd 1954 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Ralph and Leona Freed. He married Cheryl Jolene Freed on September 26th, 1975 and they raised their two sons, Noah and Adam, in the same boyhood home that David grew up in. He still resided there at the time of his passing.

David served in the Army and was stationed in Germany in the mid-1970’s, he later spent a career that spanned 3 decades in automotive and equipment maintenance and management. He was employed at Vermeer in Moore, Tecom at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City and ultimately retired from Fleet Services of Oklahoma, in Oklahoma City.

David loved sports, especially basketball and OU Football. He loved fishing, hunting and boating at Lake Eufaula, watching old westerns and spending time with Cheryl, the boys and his grandchildren.
David is survived by 2 sons; Noah David and wife Suzanne of Moore; Adam Joseph and wife Stacy of Oklahoma City; 4 grandchildren, Hadley, Marley, Landin and Ace – 1 brother, Ted and wife Maureen of Moore; 2 sisters, Floy Parton and husband Larry of Smithville and Brenda Farr of Norman; 3 sisters-in law, Priscilla Freed of Norman, Donna Freed of Wellston and Diann Pospisil of Oklahoma City; 2 brothers-in law, Terry Barnard of Oklahoma City and Curtis Turner of Earlsboro as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Cheryl; parents Ralph and Leona Freed; father and mother-in-law Joe and Genevie Barnard; brothers, Butch and Lonnie Freed; sister-in-law Linda Turner and brothers-in-law Randy Farr and Richard Pospisil.

Services will be held with limited in-person capacity on Friday, September 11th at 11am at Moore Funeral and Cremation – masks are required. The service will also be live streamed for those who cannot attend in-person.
