October 16, 1937 ~ October 18, 2018 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Tribute

John Douglas Waggoner passed from this life at the age of 81 in Norman, OK. He was born August 16, 1937 in Hugo, OK to William and Virginia Waggoner.

John joined the United States Army at the age of sixteen and spent two years in Germany. After completion, he moved here with a single suitcase in hopes of starting a career. He began working for the Teamsters Local Union as a professional truck driver and this became something that he would spend the majority of his life doing. He loved his career and all of the places that it took him. It was shortly after this that he was blessed with 3 children, Jenny, Julie, and Doug. John later met the love of his life, Lois Janko, and they married September 15, 1966 and were blessed with a combined family of 6 children.

John loved to travel and he and Lois spent many hours enjoying their favorite destinations. At one point, they traveled all the way to Alaska in a trailer. His most favorite places included South Padre, Mexico, and Colorado. John also loved to fish and enjoyed spending time at Lake Texoma. In addition, he was an accomplished commercial rated pilot and loved taking his family to fly.

An honest man who loved and cherished his family, John will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He had a way with words that brought life to every story he told and those stories will also be missed immensely.
