Juanita West

Juanita West, 92, of Moore, Oklahoma- died March 2nd, 2019. Born September 8th, 1926 in Lebanon, Missouri to the late Arthur and Carrie “Ann” Gage.


She grew up with the love of her life, but wouldn’t know it until he came home from training with the Army Air Corps. The two children were now grownup. After one date and his return to the Army Air Corps, John W. West Jr. knew he had met the love of his life. Soon she received a letter asking her to come to McCooke, Nebraska and marry him, along with money for the train fare. She went to him and they were married February 23rd, 1944. John would finish training to be top turret gunner/flight engineer for the B17 bomber and fly 38 missions over Germany.


She is survived by her brother Lorren Gage, daughter Sherry Chance and husband Don, daughter Brenda Martin and husband John, daughter Carol Smith and husband Robert, daughter-in-law Christy West whose husband John W. West III passed away December 12th, 2018, son Charles "Rick" West and wife Patty, son Mike West and wife Cheryl. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Carrie, brother Bob Gage, brother Wallace Gage, brother Jimmy Gage, her husband John of 54 years, and son John III.

 

Visitation will be Friday, March 8th from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Moore Funeral and Cremation, 400 SE 19th Street, Moore, OK 73160.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 9th at 3:00 P.M. at Moore Church of the Nazarene, 404 S. Janeway Ave., Moore, OK.   Burial and Graveside Memorial will be held in Phillipsburg, Missouri on Monday, March 11th at 3:00 P.M.
