Tribute

Larry Easley, AKA, “Cave Man” and “Shorty”

Larry Easley, age 68, passed at his home in Moore, OK, at approximately 6:00 a.m. on October 4, 2020. He was born August 29, 1952, in Tulare, CA.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary (Hacker) and Gene Easley.
Larry leaves behind his wife, Chris, of Norman, OK; his daughter, Elizabeth Draughn, of Norman, OK; granddaughter, Layla Draughn; and grandson, Hunter Draughn, both of Norman, OK.

He also leaves behind four sisters, Glenda Muller, of Moore, OK, Elaine Fortune, of Moore, OK, Regina Bonny and husband, Steve, of Moore, OK, and Debbie Potter and husband, Joe, of Moore, OK; two brothers, David Easley and wife, Robin, of Crescent, and Gary Easley, of OKC, OK.

Larry was a true nomad. He traveled all over the United States in pursuit of Rolling Stones concerts and blues concerts, back when rock and roll was authentic. He loves his family immensely, even though he left them to see who he was. He was a true smart ass and everything was handled with a joke. He enjoyed getting high and was a true hippie from the 60s. Anyone that he worked for always complimented what a hard and dependable worker that he was.

When Larry came through town, he always made sure that Gina and Debbie had money for candy and always took them to the fair. He tried to make their childhood a little better.
Larry and his brother, David, were definitely pranksters. One day they decided to tie Gina and Debbie to a tree. One was at the bottom of the tree tied up and the other was in the tree with a rope around her neck. Mom pulled up and about had a heart attack to see her two youngest daughters tied to a tree. She asked them what they were doing and they both said they were going to burn us at the stake. Needless to say, the girls lived to see another day.

Larry would always pester his sister, Elaine, and one day he did and took off running. Elaine through a pop bottle (for bottle days) over the house and hit Larry smack dab in the middle of his head and busted his head open. JUSTICE! Needless to say, Elaine got the worst part, MOM!
Larry was a free spirit and we will truly miss him.
