Matthew W Bishop

Matthew Wayne Bishop passed from this life February 17, 2019 in Oklahoma City at the age of 39. He was born November 13, 1979 in Norman, Oklahoma to Charles and Sharon Bishop.

Matt grew up in Norman and graduated from Norman High School in 1998. He went on to attend the University of Oklahoma where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business. For the past 16 years, he worked for Statewide Service Center in Oklahoma City.

Matt’s hobbies included baseball and golfing. He played baseball throughout high school and found his passion for golf later in life. Above all, Matt adored his children, Jordan and Avery, who were the light of his life. Matt continuously strived to be the best father that he could be. Matt was an amazing son, father, brother, and friend who will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.
 

He was preceded in passing by his father, Charles Bishop; and grandparents, Fred and Harriet Bishop and Lillian Seger.

Those left to continue Matt’s legacy include his children, Jordan Matthew Bishop of Norman, OK and Avery Grace Bishop of Moore, OK; step-daughter, Nicole Case; mother, Sharon Bishop of Norman, OK; sister, Michelle Sifuentes and husband Eduardo of Jenks, OK; uncle, Wally and his wife Mary; aunt, Shirlee; nephew, Daniel; cousins, Tammy and her husband Dan, Bradleigh and her wife Felicia, Marianne and her husband Keith, Richard, Christine and her husband Drew, and Jennifer. Matt is also survived by a host of loving extended family and friends.
 

A memorial service to honor Matt’s life will be held Tuesday, March 5th at 2:00 PM at McFarlin United Methodist Church, 419 S. University Blvd, Norman, OK 73069.
