Nancy Marie Dwyer, 69, of Moore, OK, died at home on October 4, 2020. She was born on January 24, 1951, in Washington, DC, and was three months old when Everette and Emily Gleason adopted her.
Nancy graduated from High Point High School in 1969, and later graduated with her Master’s Degree in Human Relations from OU in 1996. She retired from being a licensed professional counselor at age 62.
Nancy married Anton Dwyer in 1972. She had two children in this union-a son, Devon, and a daughter, Erin. Andy died in 1989. In 2006, Nancy met Lynn, and they were married in Iowa in 2009, and later moved to Oklahoma City in 2014.
She is survived by her wife, Lynn, of the home; brother, Joe and his wife; children, Devon and his wife, Brooke, Erin and her husband, Reggie Daniel; stepbrother, William Mitchell and his wife, Nancy, John and his wife, Carolyn, Robert and his wife Catherine, and Charles and his wife, Peggy; four grandchildren, Trent, Ethan, Haylee, and Aiden; two brother-in-laws, Charles and David; two nieces and two nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Ann; ex-husband, Anton; and stepbrother, James.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, October 31, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephens UMC, 1801 W Brooks, Norman, OK, 73069. Please contact the family if interested in attending, as seating is limited. Masks will be required at service.
