Patrick Jack Ayres

Patrick Jack Ayres passed from this life February 6, 2019 at his home in Norman, OK after a courageous battle with a long-term illness.

He was born April 15, 1948 to Roy and Jacqueline Ayres in Okmulgee, OK.

Patrick graduated from Stillwater High School in 1966. He married Franna Medlin of Cordell, OK and they were blessed with a son, Justin, in November 1983. Patrick received his B.S from Oklahoma State University and his MBA from the University of Central Oklahoma.  He was engaged in the banking industry for many years and became an LPN later in life. His most recent career was working in security services.

Patrick loved sports, especially football, wrestling and baseball. He attended OSU football games when he could and was an avid lover and supporter of OSU and OU sports. Patrick also loved fishing, hunting, swimming, and anything outdoors.  Patrick had a heart for helping those in need and was an avid animal lover and rescuer. In addition, he greatly enjoyed traveling overseas and a few of his most cherished adventures included cruising, touring Europe, and fishing in Canada.

Patrick was a member of the Church of Christ and most recently attended Alameda Church of Christ in Norman. He was devoted to his Lord and to his family.  A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Patrick will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Jackie Ayres; and grandparents, Tom and Agnes Crider.

Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Franna, of the home; son, Justin Ayres and wife Pam of Norman; grandson, the light of his life, Porter Ayres of Norman; sisters Cathy Silvers and husband Reggie of La Follette, TN and Barbara Osteen and husband Vic of Stillwater; brother Joe Ayres and wife Ellen of Stillwater; step-sisters, Kay Moore and husband James of Stillwater, and Jan Ackerman of Stillwater; mother-in-law, Wilma Medlin of Cordell; and sister-in-law Janis Petrik and husband, David. He is also survived by a host of loving extended family and friends.
