Penny Jean Sartain

Penny Jean Sartain passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 in Moore, Oklahoma at the age of 76. She was born February 17, 1943 in Phoenix, Arizona to Marvin and Opal Nahkunst. Penny graduated from Bellevue High School in 1961. She married Michael Everette Sartain on September 30, 1978. Penny worked as a secretary for the Department of Defense. Her husband, children, and grandchildren remember her as a kind, gentle, patient, driven wife, mother, and grandmother who encouraged them to pursue their goals and dreams. She was a generous, witty, dedicated individual who loved Nebraska Football and who was passionate about all animals. She dedicated her life to her husband, children, grandchildren and her Westies (Lilly and Paisley).

Penny is survived by her husband, Mike Sartain; children, Lisa Friedenbach Tankersley (Travis Tankersley) Bellevue, NE; Len Friedenbach (Holly Friedenbach) Papillion, NE; Lee Friedenbach Bellevue, NE; and Steve Sartain (Kristy Sartain) Clovis, NM; grandchildren, Kourtney Noel Chewning (23); Tanner Austin Friedenbach (23), Blake Mathew Friedenbach (19); Cole Mitchell Friedenbach (16); Madison Faith Harmon (16); Katelyn Rae Friedenbach (16); Nicolas Michael Sartain (13); Louden Michael Friedenbach (12); Aidan Patrick Sartain (9) Siblings, Mark Nahkunst and Mike Nahkunst, Aurora, CO.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Maxine Siemers, father, Marvin Nahkunst, and step father, Marion Siemers.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Moore Funeral Home, 400 S.E. 19th Street, Moore, Oklahoma. All family and friends are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in her memory to the ASPCA.
