Tribute

Tommy “Lane” Epperson, 56, of Oklahoma City, passed from this life unexpectedly on September 30, 2018. He was born October 16, 1961 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Tommy Ray and Peggy Jo Epperson (Davis).

Lane graduated from Moore High School in 1979. After high school he went on to work in the oil field for several years and later went into the tire business. He attended college at the University of Oklahoma and was an avid OU fan. He loved going to football games and cheering on his Sooners. Prior to his retirement earlier this year, Lane was CEO and co-founder of HiTech Assets, a leading IT asset recovery company headquartered in Oklahoma City. As a founder he helped develop the company from the ground up and was active in the electronics recycling industry, consulting for various federal agencies and speaking on best practices at major industry events.

Lane’s pride and joy was his family. He was very close to his daughters and extremely proud of their accomplishments. He was also very active in his grandchildren’s lives and enjoyed watching them wrestle and play baseball, participate in dance competitions, and all of their many other adventures. He ate lunch with them every week at school and also devoted Thursdays to taking Brady to school and having playdates with Tucker. He also enjoyed his political and philosophical conversations with Brooklynn. Other hobbies included going to the lake, fishing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He also loved hosting UFC fight night gatherings at his house. Lane was strong in his faith and loved studying the Bible. Southern Hills United Methodist Church and Life.Church were both very special to him and he loved his church family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Jo Epperson; wife, Donnell Epperson; grandparents, Marie and Bogie Davis and Zella Nichols.

Survivors include his father, Tommy Ray Epperson of Moore; daughters, Amber Huffer and husband Ryan of Oklahoma City and Melissa Schultz and husband Dustin of Oklahoma City; bonus children, Sean Ivins and Laura Ivins; grandchildren, Brooklynn, Brady, Tucker, Laci, Alicen, Alec, Daxon, and Reed; sister, Michelle Epperson; niece, LaChelle Flom and husband Scott; great-niece, Kendall Simpson; partner, Barb Lupton; and special cousin, David Davis.
